The CEN National Conference (which includes the AGM for member associations) is a pivotal event in the life of CEN and its members. We are excited to be bringing you a challenging and exciting time of fellowship and learning. This year our theme is Perplexing Times: Resilient Schools. Our current cultural story is indeed, perplexing. You don’t need convincing that we need to be as prepared as we can be to meet the next challenge with grace and wisdom. Following the success of conducting parallel conferences last year in Darwin, the CEN Developing Leaders’ Conference and the Teaching & Learning Conference are running simultaneously again, this time in Melbourne. It’s all happening Tuesday 26 June to Friday 29 June at Rydges on Swanston in Carlton just north of the CBD. The Conference dinner will featuring guest speaker, Kara Martin (author of ‘Workship’), morning devotions with Ken Dickens and keynote sessions with Stephen McAlpine are shared and then both conferences take their characteristic pathways . . .

This 1 day workshop explores designing school curriculum in response to the Australian Curriculum (or any mandated curriculum) from a biblical perspective.

This conference is aimed at senior school staff, or those who may aspire to work at this level in the next couple of years. This could include co-ordinators, heads of school, deputy principals, etc. The program includes workshops facilitated by experienced leaders, including Michelle Dempsey, CEN CEO and Narelle Sketcher, principal of Mount Evelyn CS in Melbourne.

The aim is to:

  • build Christian leadership skills,
  • provide strategies to help leaders manage themselves and their workload, and
  • build a network among staff at this critical level of leadership among CEN schools in Tasmania.
