Ken Dickens
Chief Executive Officer, Christian Education National
Principal, National Institute for Christian Education
Ken has been Senior Lecturer with the National Institute for Christian Education since 2001. In 2009 he took on the Principalship of the Institute and later that year added the responsibilities of Chief Executive Officer for Christian Education National to his role. This double role is part of a team leadership structure and is indicative of the embedded nature of teacher education within CEN.
Prior to that, Ken taught for 30 years, fifteen with NSW DSE, twelve as Principal of Heritage Christian School, Port Macquarie and three as Head of Prospect Campus of Tyndale Christian School. Ken has taught primary through to senior secondary.
Ken’s key professional interests include the philosophical and theological basis for Christian schools and leadership. His PhD research concerns theology, worldview and vision for schooling. He is a regular writer for Nurture and CTJ and co-editor of “Pointing the Way”. Ken often speaks at conferences and is a regular preacher at his local church.
Ken and his wife Jennie live in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney. They have four adult children.
